Beer A Day: Cuvée Des Trolls

En Anglais, Vintage of the Trolls.  Recommended by my Belgian native significant other.

Cuvée Des Trolls.

Cuvée Des Trolls :  7%abv  Suggested serving temperature cold.

It is a blond ale with a little body.  Sounds sexy, right?  Poured from a 25CL bottle into a tulip glass meant for 33CL-little head with nothing lasting more than a few second.  Pours quite golden/yellow.  Aroma of sweet fruit and sweet Belgian hops.    Contains a constant light carbonation-revealing the slight spice in the beer.  As light and drinkable as it is I don’t find myself wanting another.  It is brewed by Brasserie Dubuisson Freres and considered a “strong pale ale” by its makers.  A family brewery making 12 kinds of beer, including the Cuvée Des Trolls (Speciale)-to be reviewed in the future.  My lack of excitement for this beer can not be hidden in the review.  It simply does not do it for me.  Lucky for me I have stashed a few favorites for the next few posts.  Look forward to the classic Trappist Chimay-in one of three styles.  One beer at a time…
